Greetings, brave adventurers!
While we eagerly await the arrival of the ShimmerEVM main net release, the team has been toiling away to fix bugs and add new features. We are thrilled to share some updates regarding crafting in the enchanting world of Fortuvia. While the game is not yet live on the main net, we couldn't wait to give you a glimpse of what we've been building!
For those who have already embarked on the Treasures of Shimmer campaign, you may have caught a peek of the wondrous abilities that await you. Now, we want to delve deeper and share how these extraordinary powers enter the game.
What are abilities?
Some Ability Items
These powerful artifacts come in three visually striking forms: stone tablets, potent scrolls, and magical tomes. The different forms are merely cosmetic. Equip them in your character pane to gain a significant advantage in battle and other combat-related activities.
The interface to equip your hero with items!
The ability items bestow your hero with unique "actions" that shape the course of combat. The frequency and power of these actions is influenced by your hero's stats and gear, adding a strategic element to every battle.
These actions could be anything from a devastating spell that unleashes a torrent of magical damage, with its potency scaling based on your magic power. Alternatively, you could harness a beneficial buff to enhance various aspects of your hero or employ a debuff to weaken your opponents' powers. The possibilities are endless!
You can equip two distinct abilities simultaneously, creating synergies that amplify your hero's prowess. Discover the perfect combination that suits your strategy and adapt it to the specific hero!
Please be aware that the effects of ability items may be subject to future balancing adjustments. Our pursuit of a fair and enjoyable gaming experience means that refinements may occur over time.
How do I obtain these abilities!?
Deep within the mystical realm of Fortuvia lies the fabled Altar of Enlightenment, a place shrouded in ancient secrets and resonating with potent arcane energies. It is here that brave adventurers embark on a profound journey to unlock hidden powers.
To tap into the arcane energies, you'll need to collect magical dust. These ancient remnants are scattered all around Fortuvia and you should be able to find some on your adventures. Several varieties of dust exist, each corresponding to different level ranges.
Magical dust is required to create new ability items.
You also need a Scripter's Kit to capture your learnings, which is available for purchase in the new General Store at the cost of some gold, each kit can be used once.
Once you possess 8 pieces of a specific dust type and have your Scripter's Kit you are all set to discover which new ability item has been bestowed upon you.
Small change to Reforging
Reforging Station, ready for work!
We're implementing a small change to the Reforging process in IOTA Heroes. Say goodbye to using gold to charge the Reforging station. Instead, you will now need to utilize a piece of Charcoal to initiate the Reforge, similar to how it works with Researching.
Fear not, obtaining Charcoal is a breeze! Simply visit the General Store, where you can acquire this essential item in exchange for gold.
